Terms & Conditions  -  for Sales of Photographic Prints

1. These Terms & Conditions relate specifically to Sales of Photographic Prints. Please see separate Terms & Conditions for our Photo Retouching / Restoration Service.

2. The purpose of these Terms and Conditions is to clarify details of the products and services on offer, and to provide a framework for open and fair dealing.

3. In order to limit overheads, print sales are by Mail Order only. We are, however, happy to deal with enquiries by E-mail or FAX, or by telephone during normal office hours.

4. All sales are subject to receipt of payment with order. We are able to accept all major credit cards (via PayPal) card processing services) but not at present debit cards. We also accept payment by cheque (if drawn on a UK bank), or UK Postal Order or Money Order.  Cheques will normally be cleared before work is despatched.

5.  In the case of orders from outside the UK, payment should be by credit card (in US Dollars - via our Shopping Cart facility) or by International Money Order - in UK Pounds or US Dollars.   In the case of orders from within the UK, credit card payments must be in US dollars, as shown in our Shopping Cart facility, but cheques and money orders can be made out in UK pounds at the current dollar exchange rate.

6. Prices shown in our price lists, order forms etc are guide prices. While these are the prices which will normally apply, we reserve the right to change them without notice, or to adjust the prices of individual purchases in the light of any special circumstances or any additional work which may be necessary to meet the customer's specific requirements.

7. Where a special price is deemed necessary, we will not proceed with the order without prior agreement of the customer.

8. Packaging/Shipping Charges cover normal UK surface mail and Airmail to Europe, the USA.and other areas.

9. Orders will normally be despatched within seven days of receipt. In the event of delay, we will notify customers promptly.

10. Notification of damage to goods in transit must be sent to us within seven days of receipt, and damaged goods must also be returned to us promptly for examination. Claims for damage will not otherwise be accepted.

11. As colour matching is a largely subjective process, exact matching cannot be guaranteed. We will, however, do our best to ensure that colour toning of monochrome prints is to a consistent standard and that, in the case of colour images, colour balance is maintained within acceptable professional tolerances.

12. Unless otherwise stated, all prints will be borderless, printed on double-weight, glossy, fibre-based photographic paper, and archivally toned. Mounted prints will normally be window-mounted on archival white museum board with a white over-mat of the same material.

13. In the case of framed prints, frames - unless otherwise agreed - will be of aluminium construction with a satin black finish for monochrome prints, and satin silver for colour images.

14. All print sizes quoted are approximate and do not necessarily represent exact dimensions. Also, in the case of 35mm or similar 'long-rectangle' formats, the dimensions of the final print may, where necessary, be adjusted at our discretion to accommodate the shape of the image. (For example, the size of a nominal 16 in. x 12 in. print may, where necessary, be reduced to a 'full frame' 16in. x 10.7 in. to accommodate the 35mm format.) We will, however, endeavour to meet specific instructions on image dimensions wherever practicable.

15. Our policy is one of continuous development and improvement. For this reason, and to allow for fluctuations in the supply or availability of materials, we reserve the right to vary the photographic materials, chemistry, mounting or framing materials, adhesives or packaging used in connection with any photographic print. However, prints will normally carry, on the reverse of the mount, details of the materials actually used. This is for conservation reasons, and also to allow comparison with advertised specifications. We guarantee that all materials used, if not precisely as advertised, will be of a quality at least equal to the advertised specification.

16. All of our images are copyright. Any purchase from us of photographic prints, or reproductions of our images in any other form, specifically excludes any right to copy or reproduce those images for commercial or private use. Such exclusion applies also to copying or reproduction of images in digital or other electronic format. All infringements of copyright will be vigorously pursued.
