| The information on this page relates to the downloading of high
resolution digital images purchased from CMPL. To download free
'previews' (low resolution images for layout or 'comping' purposes)
please go HERE
When you order an image from CMPL, it can be delivered to you in one of three
ways. First, we can send you an original (or quality duplicate) transparency.
Secondly we can supply a high resolution digital file in TIFF format on CD-ROM.
Finally you can download a high resolution digital file in JPEG format from our
server. (Depending on circumstances - including, for example, your geographical
location and the purpose for which you require the image - we reserve the right to
supply a digital file rather than a transparency.)
If you need the image urgently, a JPEG file download is by far the most efficient
option. Delivery operates as follows:
First you must be registered for access to the secure 'Quotations and File Download'
area on our server. This is a very simple procedure and you can do it right now by
going HERE.
When you place an order and we have agreed terms, your image file is placed in the File
Download area and we send you an email containing an automatic link to the file.
When you click on the link, you are asked for your Download Area username and
password, our sytem validates these, and the file is then automatically transferred to
you. Depending on circumstances, the file may be in JPEG (.jpg) format or compressed
'Zip' format.
JPEG Downloads
In the case of a JPEG file, you will see a large-scale version of the image appear
slowly on your screen, as it downloads. When the download process is complete, click
on the screen image with the right button of your mouse, then select the
'save picture as' option, and save the file to a local folder.
Zip Downloads
In the case of a Zip file, the file will automatically download to a local folder
without displaying the image on your screen. Watch carefully and note the location
of the folder to which the file is downloaded. The compressed file will then need to be
'unzipped' (using 'WinZip' or a similar utility).
Test File Downloads
If you have already registered for our members' area, you can check
out our download procedure, using a test file. To download a (JPEG) test file, click
