Introduction
Welcome to our Photographic Bibliography which currently comprises six
major sections, with the emphasis on Photographic Collecting, Conservation, and the
History of Photography.
In contrast to our Bookstore
(see below) which is concerned only with currently-available titles, the Bibliography
aims to list 'classic' or major works in six key categories, regardless of whether the
titles are readily available, hard to find, or out of print.
Where a title is hard to find, it may of course be possible to buy a
second-hand copy or as a last resort borrow one through the public library system.
(Significant numbers of titles in our Bibliography pages are now in the 'out of print' or
'hard to find' categories.) In addition to 'classic' titles, we aim also to
catalogue as many authoritative new publications as possible in each of our chosen
categories. Unless they are very obscure, new titles should be readily available
from major bookshops, including our own on-line Bookstore
Our Bibliography pages are now supported by the Bookstore which lists
currently available photographic titles under 17 major headings, and is linked to Amazon.co.uk,
one of the UK's largest on-line booksellers. Where titles listed in our Bibliography
pages are currently available through the Bookstore, a direct ('clickable') link is
provided from the Bibliography page to the appropriate section of the Bookstore.
We believe that readers will find the Bookstore an interesting and
exciting new development, offering a speedy, efficient and economical means of
purchasing photographic books ( as well as books on all kinds of other
subjects) - without even stirring from home! Please give this new
service a try, by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.
